Beit Conference Centre is situated in the heart of South Kensington, in West London. Located on the main Imperial College London campus, Beit Conference Centre is within walking distance of many fantastic museums, galleries, restaurants and hotels.
Next door to the Beit Conference Centre is the Royal Albert Hall. Visitors can go for a tour of the building, take in some live music or watch some stand-up comedy. A short 5-10 minute walk will take you to either the Science Museum, the Natural History Museum or the Victoria & Albert museum. North of the Beit Conference Centre is Kensington Gardens, adjoining Hyde Park, where you can stroll through the park, relax on a summer's day or head to the Serpentine Gallery.
Hop on a bus, or walk east for 15-minutes, and you'll arrive at Knightsbridge, home to Harrods as well as numerous other high-end shops. Alternatively, head west for 15-minutes and you'll come to Kensington High Street, the main shopping street in the area.
Located north-west of Kensington Gardens is Notting Hill. Catch a film in the old-fashioned Coronet or Gate independent cinemas, or head further onwards at the weekend to Portobello Market.
Beit Conference Centre is situated within Zone 1 of the Underground network. Getting to Beit Conference Centre or around London is very simple. South Kensington is the nearest tube station, a 10-minute walk away. Similarly, Gloucester Road is a 10-15 minute walk away. Both stations are situated on the Picadilly, District and Circle lines. You can take the tube to either Notting Hill Gate, Kensington High Street or Knightsbridge station to reach the relevant areas of interest mentioned above. Taking the tube to Oxford Street or many other central London locations should take you no longer than 20-30 minutes.
A number of buses also operate in and around the Imperial College London South Kensington campus. Bus 360 will take you from South Kensington tube station to outside of Beit Conference Centre. On the north side of Beit Conference Centre bus 10 will take you to Oxford Circus, bus 9 will take you to Picadilly Circus and Trafalgar Square and bus 52 will take you to Buckingham Palace. Buses 9, 10 and 52 all pass through Knightsbridge as well. To reach Notting Hill you can take bus 52, 70 or 452, and buses 9, 10 and 49 also go to Kensington High Street.
